Jasmine’s Gift Shop
An Angel called Jasmine flies to work each day.
Some people think she works too hard, but to her it’s more like play.
Her little shop sells greeting cards, envelopes and stamps;
And stocks all kinds of Angel stuff – gowns and harps and lamps;
Cushions and dream-catchers, driftwood from the sea;
Pots of talcum powder and bags of herbal tea;
Pretty bows and ribbons, figurines and rugs;
Silver charms and crystals and decorated mugs;
Calendars and diaries and bookmarks made with reeds;
Stardust from a falling star and baskets full of seeds;
Games and jigsaw puzzles, a range of hula-hoops;
Incense and potpourri, all sorted into groups.
You see, Jasmine’s very organized, she does everything on time:
When summer comes, she’ll paint her shop a lovely shade of lime;
And every day she sweeps the floor and rearranges things:
A cupboard full of fancy hats and a cabinet full of rings.
Then she lights three floating lanterns to light the little room,
And burns three scented candles to spread a sweet perfume;
And she does all this to welcome you, to show you how it’s done:
Working hard to run her Angel shop, whilst having lots of fun.
